B on 33: Beautifying our Byways
Food Shed Idaho is passionate about flowers and making our community even more beautiful for all to enjoy. So, we are asking for your help.
Imagine driving down our Highway 33 in the Springtime and enjoying eight miles of beautiful wildflowers between Victor and Driggs. That’s what B on 33 is working towards -- beautifying our byways while creating a pollination corridor for bees and butterflies.
This Fall (2024) we will be seeding the first section of the Highway 33 corridor on both sides of the bicycle path. Each year, we will increase our scope of work and reseed the previous year’s work where needed to reinforce the wildflowers.
How much we plant is solely based on how much we can raise. Our hope is to seed 2 miles this first year and to have the corridor completely seeded within five years. Various factors like water, dryness and weeds make our work a bit challenging but with the help of local experts we hope to seed the entire byway with deer-resistant, native wildflowers that will beautify our byway for years to come.
We need your support to make it possible. Your donation will help us fund the seeds we need that will be sown this Fall. One hundred percent of your donation will be used on this effort because we are on all-volunteer organization.
If you remember, I purchased this property almost 4 years ago and started planting wildflowers 3 years ago. It has taken work and patience. And, it's still evolving.
Thank you for your consideration!
