About Us

Essentially, we are a chef curated pantry that opened in late November 2020 as an on-line business.  The "store" opened in October 2021.

Food Shed Idaho was born out of an idea to bring more local, regional and imported food ingredients to Teton Valley, Idaho and the Jackson, Wyoming areas, while providing a safe and easy shopping experience.  Whether you're a local, have a second home here or just visiting, we have something for everyone including small sizes that are perfect for RV'ers and campers alike.

Food Shed Idaho is a marketplace for all the things I love, from producers I love.  It's also a place where I can get back to cooking.  We have a commercial kitchen on site and are currently offering a wide range of baked cookies and brittle focusing on local ingredients and sensitive diets.

Many of the vendors Food Shed Idaho features are companies or farms I've known for years.  In many cases, I have been to their farms or factories in the US, France and Italy.  These companies have a passion for authentically produced food with few ingredients.  Most of these brands will be new to you.  I think you'll love them as much as I do.

It's also important to me to have products that are competitively priced too.  I'm only buying directly from master importers (not available to the general public) or the producer/manufacturer.  So, if you are a restaurant, caterer, baker, chocolatier or even another retailer interested in any brands I'm stocking (most products come in larger sizes), let me know.

I'm also offering items addressing food sensitivities.  Several years ago, I discovered that I was dairy and gluten intolerant.  It was challenging at first trying to find foods that were delicious, wholesome and didn't make me feel like I had given up anything.  It turned out to be the opposite!  I'm committed to offering many options for people with restricted diets, while staying true to having exceptional products with limited ingredients.

About me, Cecily...  Originally from New England, I'm a graduate of the California Culinary Academy and spent the last 25 years in the restaurant/food industry in San Francisco - 7 years cooking in white tablecloth restaurants and over 20 years in specialty foodservice sales.  I've moved to Teton Valley to be closer to family and start a new chapter with a slower, more meaningful way of life.

It took me a while to get here.  I spent the last year on the road and an Airstream (with my dog and trusty sidekick, Sparky) visiting friends and family around the US, resetting my compass.  I came here two summers ago and was taken away by this beautiful landscape and your warm hospitality.  Even at that time, I thought I could live here.  After logging almost 40,000 miles on my truck, I had a lot of time to think about what I could do next that would be fun, fulfilling, probably food related, and definitely connected to family.  When COVID hit, it helped me make the decision to actually move here and start anew.

Lastly, you should know I love to talk about food!  I've always enjoyed sharing my knowledge and passion.  If there is something you are looking for, have a question on something I stock or have a suggestion on something I should carry...let me know!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  I hope you enjoy your visit and come back often.  We are located at 139 West Center Street, Victor, Idaho.
