Only the best.
These nuts are from small producers that have complete control over their product.  They are passionate and proud of what they grow.  While most commodity brands (not even the farm) put a best by "year" date on their packages, these small producers sometimes put too short of a date on their best by.  They are well rotated and not stale or rancid.  They are fresh.  We like to freeze our nuts which helps to extend their freshness.  The Marcona and pistachios are grown in California while the hazelnuts are grown in Oregon.
