Limited supply, direct from Italy. Exquisite candy from a legacy candy maker in Genoa since 1780. Packaging is exceptional, too. Box is wrapped in parchment paper with a logo seal. Â
Romanengo represents the most ancient Italian confectionery tradition, which it keeps alive through the exclusive use of gum Arabic and sugar syrup. Our confectionery products are based on several raw materials, including Avola almonds, pine nuts, pistachios, cinnamon, cardamom, fennel seeds, candied citrus peel, and coffee beans.

Dimensions:Â approx 2.75" x 2.75" x 1.25"
- Sicilian "Avola" almonds are coated in sugar only, leaving their dark skin intact to fully capture the flavor of this precious seed.
- Pine nuts grown in Italy, with a delicate and aromatic flavor. This sweet originates from the ancient culture of Eastern peoples who knew how to preserve flower, fruit, seed, and leaf parts in sugar.
- Romanengo exclusively coats pistachios in pure sugar syrup, which enhances their flavor and aroma. In keeping with classic tradition, they are tender, crunchy, and delicate.
- A sweet that captures the warm scent of this spice. Sri Lankan cinnamon bark is carefully hand-cut in tiny pieces and then coated using the crepe method to create a spicy and aromatic sweet. In the Middle Ages these were called "chamber spices" and were a precious gift.Â
- Considered one of the most precious spices in the world along with saffron and vanilla, candied cardamom seeds are one of the great heirs of the chamber spices mentioned in medieval texts.
- Improperly called a seed, the fennel fruit is processed to produce a small, delicate candy with a unique sweet, aromatic, and bold flavor. In Genoa, it's traditionally believed that fennel promotes breast milk production.
- Our "cetronetto" is fresh orange peel, sliced into strips, candied using the ancient slow candying process, and then coated in pure sugar syrup. This way, the candy releases the full aroma of the fruit.Â
- The 100% Arabica coffee bean is roasted, sugared, and flavored with anise, thus reviving one of our oldest traditions from our historic recipe books.
